Hello world! I've been working in the bar/restaurant world on again off again for about 10 years. I have bar tended for 7 of them. One of the best things(in my humble opinion) of this way of work and life style is the unusual things that happen that seem to become usual after a while in the business. This can be a world where vomit, fist fights, drugs, sex and multitasking come to be as natural as letting your dog out in the afternoon.
My goal here is to share some of my experiences(changing names and places to protect the guilty) and drink recipes. I plan on trying to give the ingredients of drinks then relating it to a story that I have lived in this business. Although the drink recipe may have nothing to do with the story. I also would like to turn this into a semi-forum for us in the industry to trade stories and drinks. A place to "shoot the shit" and boast our knowledge.
This blog will not be for general bitching of bad tippers, finger snapping douche rags, moron frat types, beer snobs, wine snobs, shitty servers..etc. I however dont mind any or all of these types being in a story followed by a drink recipe. Kitchen guys I'll even allow some of your recipes and stories too since we are all one big dysfunctional family. Hope you enjoy these posts and please chime in for the positive or negative.
